Why women in their 20s rush into marriage

For women who get hitched in their 20s, divorcing in the first couple of years has become a common pattern now, and most of them go through this horrifying phase even before hitting 30. While the factors behind every relationship’s downfall are different, the underlying impetus behind marriage is similar for some of the women.

For women, who maintain a comfortable long-term relationship in their 20s, the next logical step is to get hitched, mainly because they find it convenient. Madison, a 29 year-old accountant from New Jersey admitted to marrying even though she didn’t feel ‘crazy love’, because was ‘content and secure instead’, Huffington Post quoted her as telling.

Many times it is a previous relationship, which leaves a woman heartbroken and propels them to marry ‘Mr Wrong'. They say you never really get over your first love.
“I didn''t think I would ever fall in love again so I figured it didn’t matter who I married,” said Tara, a 26 year-old freelance writer from North Carolina.

There are many women who take the decision of getting married simply because they hope that marriage would change things. For instance, Casey, a 35 year-old travel correspondent thought that once she settled into newlywed bliss, her ex-husband would be happier with his own life, will be able to hold a steady job and show her more affection. However, in due course Casey, who married at 24, found her ex husband “immature and insecure”.

Then there are instances when women hasten to tie the nuptial knot apparently because of low self-esteem. “I was a very insecure individual at that time. I was losing weight from gastric bypass surgery and wasn’t happy with my appearance. He told me I couldn’t do any better and I believed him,” said Kim, a 30 year-old social worker.

There is not one main reason, which can be blamed for getting married. There are women who had a clue that their marriages were not meant to be but still went ahead with it anyway.

These interviews were conducted for the book ‘Trash the Dress: Stories of Celebrating Divorce in your 20s’.

she is just finding out the vows meant nothing to him? Definitely there must have been traces of his anger during the courtship (If they ever courted in the first place) and she probably just ignored it.

Now her life is history is now a headline news around the world. Anyways her story will make Kim Kardashian feel better.

Bride Collapses On Wedding Day Over Reception Food

The wedding of beautiful Miss Doris Longe and Ade Imasuen was greeted with heavy commotion when news filtered in that the taxi driver that was hired to transport the food and other refreshments to the reception venue has escaped with the tasty meals.

The excitement at the reception venue, a popular hotel in G.R.A Benin City turned dimmed immediately, but that was not the end of the commotion.

It was gathered that the said taxi driver was stopped around King’s Square area of Benin City to transport the food and other entertainment items from the bride mother’s house in G.R.A to the reception venue, which include 11 giant coolers of well prepared fried/jollof rice, fried meat, moi-moi, pounded yam with egusi and ogbonor soup as well as breakable plates.

The driver who claimed to know the venue of the reception in G.R.A, was told to go unaccompanied to quickly drop the items and return to pick the remaining things while they get themselves ready for the reception.

But after awaiting for the taxi driver for almost two hours and he did not show up; it dawned on those in charge that the worst may have happened. So they had to embark on searching for the taxi driver which proved abortive.

It was gathered that serious efforts were made by both families of the couple to conceal the news from the couple, but the bride, Doris Longe, collapsed on hearing the life time embarrassing news that a taxi driver has absconded with her wedding reception food.

It took the combined efforts of all present to revived her, after which the event continued in a low spirit. Not even the comedic moves adopted by the MC to restore smiles to the faces of the disappointed couple and their family members.

END TIME:Man marries dog in India.(PHOTO)

We have all heard the 'man bites dog' stories, but how about a real-life 'man marries dog' tale!

This one takes the biscuit, and it could only happen in India, the land of the Kama Sutra.

But you won't find this kind of love story between man and beast in the ancient Indian s8x manual.

It took place for real during a traditional hindu ceremony at a temple in the southern state of Tamil Nadu.

The groom in question was a 33-year-old Indian farmer named Selvakumar, and he was wed to a female dog named Selvi.

He married his four legged bitch to atone for stoning two other dogs to death and stringing them up in a tree 15 years ago.

He believed the act cursed him and he had been suffering ever since, he told the Hindustan Times.

After he stoned the dogs he said his legs and hands got paralysed, he lost hearing in one ear, and his speech was impaired.

With doctors unable to help him, Selvakumar turned to an astrologer who told him he was cursed by the spirits of the dogs he had killed.

He could undo the curse only if he married a dog and live with it, the soothsayer warned.

Family members chose a stray female dog who was then bathed and clothed for the wedding occasion.

Selvi the bride was brought to the temple by village women and a Hindu priest conducted the ceremony.

The paper showed a picture of Selvakumar sitting next to his canine bride, which was adorned in an orange sari and flower garland.

The paper said the groom and his family then had a feast, while the dog got a bun.

It was reported that Selvi attempted to make a bolt for it -- apparently due to the big crowds -- but she was tracked down and returned to her new 'husband'.

"The dog is only for lifting the curse and after that, he plans to get a real bride," a friend of the groom said.

Deeply superstitious people in rural India sometimes organize weddings to dogs and other animals, believing it can beat certain curses.

Bride divorce Groom 60 minutes after wedding

An 80-year-old man was divorced by his young wife just after a hour of being married.

According to an ‘Al Khaleej’ report, the elderly man approached Ras Al Khaimah court to have his marriage solemnised to the 20-year-old Asian woman.

Initially the judge refused to approve of their union because the bride’s guardian had not accompanied the couple. The court later certified the wedding when the elderly man brought the person concerned.

However, to the amusement of those in court and to the shock of the octagenarian bridegroom, the newly-wed girl returned to court within 60 minutes of she stepping into her husband’s home requesting the same judge to grant her a divorce from the old man.

She refused to divulge reasons for her request. The judge sought the husband’s consent and terminated the union and she returned the dowry to the elderly man.

Meet The lady Who dumps her boyfriend to move in with his father

It was smiles all round at the family barbecue as Lewis Walker hugged his fiancee Emma Schofield and grinned at his father Darren.

But Lewis was unaware that Emma was hiding a terrible secret – for the past few weeks she had been sleeping with his dad.

Adding insult to injury, father and son had only recently reconciled after spending nearly eight years apart - and it was Emma who had engineered their meeting.

But just six months after meeting Darren, Emma found herself falling for the 43-year-old builder and into his bed.

The 27-year-old from Blackburn, Lancashire, struggled with choosing between her fiancé and her future father-in-law.

She said: 'Standing beside Lewis at that barbeque in June 2011 was torture.
''I felt such a fraud knowing that while I was on the arm of my fiance, it was his old man who I had fallen for.

'Sometimes I lie in bed and cry because it’s horrible what I did to him, but on the other hand I found it impossible to control the feelings I had towards his dad.'

It was in December 2009 that Emma first fell for labourer Lewis, 21.
Emma, who works in sales, said: 'When I met Lewis at a Christmas party he seemed lovely.
'He put his hand on my knee and said: "I think you’re the most beautiful girl in the world and I really, really mean that." Moments later our lips had locked and we were kissing.

'After a few dates I realised he was special. He treated me with respect, was always the perfect gentleman and our s*x life was fantastic.

'After two months of dating he’d all but moved in and four months later he proposed with the words: "I want you to say yes because I’ve never loved a girl as much as I love you, and I want to make you happy for the rest of your life."

'My eyes filled with tears and I said yes.'
But thinking about their upcoming marriage made Emma realise she was yet to meet his whole family.

She said: 'The one person I hadn’t met was Lewis’s dad - they hadn’t been close since his parents split eight years earlier.

'I saw our engagement as a way of bridging the gap and bringing them together. I was determined our wedding would bring them closer.

'When we knocked on his door Darren answered and I was confronted by a man who looked ten years younger than his 43 years and was very handsome.

Ashamed with herself: Emma describes her split from Lewis as 'heartbreaking'
'He invited us in and was charming and confident. I was instantly attracted to him, not in a s*xual way, but I fell in love with his personality.

'We all became very close after that meeting and went out for drinks and to clubs together.
'A year ago Lewis and I were at Darren’s house after a Saturday night out. Darren and I were drunk but Lewis was sober as he was on call for work, in case the alarm went off.

'We’d only been in five minutes when Lewis got a call out. He phoned from work ten minutes later to say there’d been a break in and he wouldn’t be home for a few hours.

'I told him I would sleep in the spare room at his dad's, as I didn’t fancy going home on my own.

iI sat with Darren on the sofa with a glass of wine, and suddenly he turned to me and said: "I don’t think I’ve ever seen you looking this attractive."

'I was shocked, told him to stop it and pulled my short skirt down as it had accidentally ridden up. But he put his hand on my thigh.

'I turned to him and suddenly we kissed, but then I thought about Lewis and stopped him, saying: "This isn’t right, it isn’t fair on Lewis." His face dropped and he said: "You’re right."

'I decided the best thing to do was go to the spare room, get undressed and into bed. As I lay under the covers the initial adrenalin rush had been replaced by fear.
'What was I playing at? I loved Lewis, he was the perfect man for me.

'But underneath I knew I was attracted to Darren. I wanted him and not Lewis, and the thought made my blood run cold.

'How could I ever admit that to Lewis? What sort of person would that make me? I was scared, terrified of what the future held. That kiss had made me realise I was with the wrong person.
'Darren appeared at my bedroom door and sat on the bed: "I’m really sorry for what happened just now. Please don’t tell Lewis, he must never find out."

'My emotions were all over the place, I pulled him towards me and we started kissing and minutes later we were having s*x.

'When it had finished Darren went back to his room and I lay on the bed in a complete state of shock.

'There was no going back now. But I felt so guilty and ashamed, ashamed that I’d betrayed Lewis who was such a genuine person.

'I’d been cheated on in the past so I knew what it felt like, and now I was no better than them.

'But I couldn’t stop thinking about Darren, I couldn’t see a way of having him without causing massive heartbreak.

'I started to cry, I couldn’t see what I was going to do.

An hour later Lewis came home, but I couldn’t look him in the eye. I’d betrayed the man I thought I loved.

'For the next three months I saw Darren when Lewis wasn’t around, and tried to carry on as though nothing had happened.

'I was an emotional wreck. I’d gone from wanting to spend the rest of my life with Lewis to being unable to be intimate with him because I didn’t love him.

'It was heart-breaking. I wanted to reset the clock and go back to how things were before all this happened, but I couldn’t.

'Telling Lewis the truth would mean he lost his dad again, and he’d be unable to forgive me. If Lewis and I ate tea together I’d suddenly well up and have to rush out of the kitchen so Lewis didn’t see me in tears.'

During all of this turmoil, Lewis was planning the couple’s wedding.
Emma said: 'He’d taken over planning the wedding because I was showing little interest.
'But I still couldn’t choose between them. I loved Darren and could see a future with him but Lewis deserved better than that, so I stuck it out.

'I took Lewis's hand and said: "I’m really sorry, but for the past few months I’ve been seeing your dad. I really like you but I don’t love you. I love Darren."'

'After three months of this charade I became so exhausted I told Darren we had to come clean. Darren panicked and said: "You can’t, he’ll never speak to me again."
'But I knew this was the right thing to do, I could never end things with Darren now.
'Darren and I met at his house and Lewis joined us. He knew something was wrong and asked: "Is everything OK?"
'I took Lewis’s hand and said: "I’m really sorry, but for the past few months I’ve been seeing your dad. I really like you but I don’t love you. I love Darren."

'Lewis laughed, thinking I was joking. But when I walked up to Darren, took his hand and started to cry, Lewis’ face dropped.

'He threw himself at Darren and they started fighting. Eventually Lewis marched to the front door and screamed: "I hope you two will be happy together, in hell!"

'The guilt and betrayal I felt towards him made me feel sick. I lost lots of weight, couldn’t eat, didn’t want to go out and sank into depression.

'But I think I have made the right decision by choosing Darren, my future is with him now.
'To drag things on with Lewis would’ve been crueller than doing what I did and I’ve come to terms with that now.
'Darren and I have been together, properly, for five months now and are hoping to move in together this year.
'Darren’s hoping to patch things up with Lewis but I’m not holding my breath. We haven’t spoken since the fight, but I hope one day we can all be friends again.'
Darren claimed the couple are 'really happy' together.

He said: 'It’s a shame what’s happened and I didn’t want to hurt Lewis, but at the end of the day I’ve found Emma and that’s what counts.

'Lewis will find someone else, he’s a good-looking lad and I hope one day we can be friends again.'

Lewis said: 'I’m getting over it. But I still think it’s a nasty thing to do.
'I feel quite embarrassed about it. I don’t know if I’ll ever be friends with my dad again, well definitely not while he’s with her.

20-Year-Old Australian Man, Marries His Dog In Park Ceremony

Dogs may be known internationally as man's best friend, but one Australian has taken his puppy love to an entirely new level by marrying his cherished pet.

According to the AFP, Joe Guiso wed his five-year-old golden retriever, Honey, in a park in the Queensland town of Toowoomba.

The groom donned a formal grey suit while the "bride" wore a flowing veil-like cape attached to her collar.

Thirty of Guiso's friends and family attended the unorthodox wedding, which concluded with the groom getting down on one knee to plant a kiss on his beloved pooch. "You're my best friend and you make every part of my day better," Guiso, 20, told his pet, according to the New York Daily News.

Though local animal rights groups have slammed the nuptials, Guiso has laughed off the criticism, saying that while he loves his dog, the relationship is strictly platonic.

"There's nothing s*xual," he told the AFP, noting that the event was simply a lighthearted way to celebrate with friends. "You can't actually marry a dog." And it sounds as if the honeymoon period might already be over for the new couple: "I think [Honey's] a bit angry about all the publicity; she's been giving me the silent treatment,"

How Far Is Too Far? Man Takes Revenge Mission On His Wedding Day

This is a story about a wedding that took place recently. It was a huge wedding with over 300 guests.

After the wedding at the reception, the groom got up on stage and took the microphone to talk to the crowd. He said he wanted to thank everyone for coming, many from long distances, to support them at their wedding.

He especially wanted to thank the bride’s and groom’s families for coming and to thank his new father-in-law for providing such a fabulous reception.

To thank everyone for coming and bringing gifts and everything, he said he wanted to give everyone a special gift from just him. Taped to the bottom of everyone’s chair (even the chairs of the wedding party) was a manila envelope.

He said that was his gift to everyone and told everyone to open their envelopes. Inside each manila envelope was an 8x10 picture of his best man having s*x with the bride. (He had gotten suspicious of the two of them and hired a private detective to trail them weeks prior to the wedding).

After he stood there and watched the people’s reactions for a couple of minutes, he turned to the best man and said “F----you!” he then turned to the bride and said “F----you!” and then he turned to the dumbfounded crowd and said…. “Thanks, I’m out of here”.

He had the marriage annulled first thing that Monday morning. While most of us would have broken off the engagement immediately after finding out about the affair, this guy goes through with it anyway as if nothing was wrong. His revenge;

1) Making the bride’s parents pay a lot for a 300 guests wedding and reception
2) Letting everyone know exactly what did happen
3) And best of all trashing the bride’s and best man’s reputations in front of all their friends, parents, brothers, sisters, grandparents, nieces and nephews, etc.

Did this guy go too far?
