Gay MP attacks Government plans to allow same-s*x couples to marry
One of Britain's first openly gay MPs has criticised Government plans to allow same-s*x couples to get married as a petition opposing the move has attracted more than 400,000 signatures.
Former Labour minister Ben Bradshaw said the controversial move was 'pure politics' and insisted that Britain's gay community did not need the word 'marriage'. His comments came as the petition on the No 10 website which supports keeping the institution of marriage between husbands and wives went over the 400,000 mark.
The petition, launched by the Coalition for Marriage (C4M), has now been signed by more people than voted in last year's local elections in either Birmingham or Manchester. Mr Bradshaw, who is in a civil partnership, said that Mr Cameron was pushing through the plans in a bid to show how the Conservative party has modernised. He told the Washington Post:
'This is more of David Cameron trying to drag the Conservatives kicking and screaming into the modern world.' Mr Bradshaw insisted that Labour would support the plans, but he added: 'This is pure politics on their part. This isn't a priority for the gay community, which already won equal rights with civil partnerships.
Iraqi murders put gay and emo youth on edge
A recent rash of killings of people perceived to be gay or emo in Iraq has stoked fear within those communities, which worry the government might be unwilling or unable to protect them.
At least 14 such victims were killed in Baghdad in the past three weeks, according to a senior Interior Ministry official, who was not authorized to talk to the media.
Rights activists claim the number is actually much higher, with some suggesting dozens or more than 100 have been killed since February.
The killings appear to target people perceived to be gay, or emo -- shorthand in Iraq for an in-your-face style of Western dress that favors tight clothes, long hair and the color black.
Most of the killings have taken place in Shiite neighborhoods like Sadr City, Shulaa, Ameen and Tariq, activists said.

"Ten days ago, I received a letter from militiamen threatening me that if they found me then they will not kill me like other 'perverts,' but they will cut my body into pieces," a gay activist told CNN on Sunday.
The activist, who spoke on the condition of anonymity because of safety concerns, showed CNN a copy of a letter he said was distributed in Sadr City, identifying 33 potential "gay and emo" targets.
"We strongly warn every male and female debauchee, if you do not stop this dirty act within four days, then the punishment of God will fall on you at the hands of Mujahideen," it read.
The anonymous threats and murders come less than a month after the Interior Ministry released a statement on the so-called emo phenomenon, blasting it as Satanic.
It said the movement, which it described as young people wearing "strange and tight clothes with graphics such as skulls," is being monitored by authorities with the goal of eliminating it.
To that end, community or "moral police" will be allowed to enter schools in the capital, the statement read.
The campaign and violence have had an immediate chilling effect among youth communities in Baghdad.
Teenager Kamel Saad told CNN he cut his hair so as not to become a potential target.
"I'm not the only one. All my friends in the school decided to change their hair style and change their clothes, too, even though we're not emo or gay," he said.
Saad said a group of men, who identified themselves as community police, entered his classroom two weeks ago and asked students to tell them about other students' suspicious behavior.
"I thought it was about terrorism, but later, when the police explained more, we realized that they were talking about emo," he said.
Gay beauty pageant fast taking a stand
When Wendelinus Hamutenya told his father that he was gay, the then 18-year-old was packed off to the psychiatric ward of the Windhoek Central Hospital.
Seven years later, he’s the country’s most visible gay man, after winning the inaugural “Mr Gay Namibia” pageant — which will make him the first black African to compete for the title of Mr Gay World in neighbouring South Africa in April.
“Winning the Mr Gay Namibia title has brought the topic about gays and the whole (gay) community more into the open and I received congratulations from all sectors, also straight people — it was like a breakthrough,” the shy 25-year-old Hamutenya told AFP.
But the breakthrough came with a backlash. Two weeks after winning the title in November, he was beaten by two men who demanded a slice of his prize money.
Neighbours noticed the commotion and rushed into the street to save him. The two assailants escaped, while Hamutenya was hospitalised with bruised ribs and cuts to his nose and forehead that are still visible.
“I laid a case at the nearest police station. I went there a few days ago to hear what progress was made since two months have passed. Police told me the docket got lost,” he told AFP.
Still, he said the response to his victory and the attack — which sparked an outcry among gay groups and more broadly on Facebook — showed how far Namibia has come.
Namibia still has a 1927 sodomy law dating from South African rule. The law is rarely enforced, but in the first decade after independence from apartheid South Africa in 1990, top Namibian leaders repeatedly railed against gays.
“Homos*xuals must be condemned and rejected in our society,” then president Sam Nujoma said in 1996.
“Police are ordered to arrest you and deport you and imprison you,” he said five years later.

In 2000, cabinet minister Jerry Ekandjo said police must “eliminate” gays “from the face of Namibia” and even kill their dogs.
It was in that environment that Hamutenya’s father had him hospitalised.
“At 16, I noticed my attraction to boys and men, and when 18, while still at school, I told my father, who promptly phoned the police to take me to the psychiatric ward of the Windhoek Central Hospital,” Hamutenya said, his soft brown eyes becoming sad.
“It was very heartbreaking to go through all that.”
After a few days, he ran away from the hospital and stayed with friends. Quite a while later his father sent for him and they reconciled. He said his mother, four siblings and the extended family also accept him now.
For Christmas, he returned to the village where he herded cattle as a boy, and received a celebrity welcome.
“The school kids almost treated me like a pop star. I had to give autographs on school shirts,” he said.
His experience remains the exception.
Linda Baumann, director of gay group Outright Namibia, said many lesbians and gay men still enter straight marriages to bow to conventions, while lesbians face the threat of rape from men seeking to “cure” them.
“If lesbians want to lay a charge with the police, they say ‘you asked for it’ and dockets go missing,” Baumann said.
Hamutenya said he hopes his experiences will make it easier for Namibians to come out.
“There are still so many fellow Namibians hiding their gay or lesbian status from family members, but being like that is not a choice one makes, you are born gay or lesbian,” he said.
“Since I became Mr Gay Namibia I receive a lot of calls from teenage boys and young men who realise they are either gay or bi-s*xual, but are confused, troubled and scared to come out,” he said.
“So I would like to visit different parts of Namibia and speak to people about acceptance and tolerance.”

Self Acclaimed Pastor Punished Son To Death
What would have made a woman so heartless as to mete out the kind of punishment that would lead to the death of her child? How stubborn or disobedient can a child be to warrant death as punishment?
These were the questions on the lips of nurses and doctors of St. Mary Hospital Gwagwalada, and police officers handling investigation in the matter.
The boy, Chiboy, was brought in to the hospital with his hands swollen and peeling. He was weak and could hardly breathe.
His eyes were wide open and he kept moaning. One could notice that he was surely in pains.
Unfortunately, efforts to save his life by the doctors at the hospital proved futile as he died a few hours later.
Chiboy’s mother, Rosemary Okeke was there as life slipped out of her 9-year-old boy. She could hardly believe that the’ little’ punishment she had given to her boy would lead to his death.
But what manner of punishment could lead to death?
Okeke, who said she was the pastor of Sabbath church called Yeshua, the King of Kings church said she had tied her son’s hands with a ‘china’ cloth and had in addition put ‘small pepper’ into his eyes for disobeying her and proving stubborn.
She said: “We wanted to go out. I saw him putting on his sandals and I noticed that the buckle has spoilt. I asked him what happened to his sandals and he said that the buckle was spoilt long ago whereas it had just spoilt. I told him that I have asked him never to lie to me again and said I will punish him till I come back with his brother from where we were going.
“I told him to ‘hang in the air’ but he refused to do the punishment. I brought out a whip and wanted to flog him but he started struggling with me.’’
Okeke said she was angry that her boy was proving stubborn and “he wanted to show me that he was stronger than me. That was when I brought out the pepper and put a little in his eyes. I also called his 15-year-old brother to help me tie his hands and I left him in my room.’

Chiboy it was gathered stayed in the room from 7am 7.30pm crying and begging for forgiveness. But his tears fell on deaf ears as his mother who did not give him food paid him no attention.
“It was when I entered the house in the evening that I noticed that my son was not my son again. I shouted and called my neighbors who brought a car and took us to the hospital. The doctor said he won’t treat him unless we get report from the police station. So we rushed to the police station,” she added.
NEWSMEN gathered that one of the patients at the hospital who saw the situation of the boy had called the police to report the incident and they were requested to come with the boy to the police station
It was further gathered that at the police station, the police took the boy to a nearby hospital, St Mary’s Hospital Gwagwalada.
‘’The hands were peeling off. And the eyes were wide open. The doctors were about to cut off his hands so that the infection will move to other places. The doctor said that the effect of the pepper had already gone to the brain,” a nurse who pleaded anonymity said.
Ironically, Okeke ended up not going to where she had initially planned to go before the issue of the sandals came up.
Many have been asking what would make a mother treat her own child the way she did.
“It was anger. I was just angry with him. It is just that the anger got out of hand,” she kept saying to herself.’
The anger surely got out of hand because the 32-year-old mother found herself losing a child and is presently in police net, at the Gwagwalada Divisional Headquarters.
Okeke has however denied the allegation that she planned to use the boy for rituals and swore to high heavens that Chiboy was her son.
“He is my son. His father is dead, he died long ago,” she said.
Okeke who lives in Angwan Hausawa in Gwagwalada said she had come to Gwagwalada to start a branch of her church and that she had been staying in the town for the past six months.
“We are yet to build the church. We have a land. We are hoping to put a batcher there and start off until we can build a church. I consult for people. That is how I survive.
They pay consultancy fee for N500 and sometimes give me money for items we need for prayers,” she added.
But that are not the crux the matter.
The matter is that Chiboy is dead. Dead by the hands of his mother who took her anger too far. She is now left with her 15-year-old child who will keep wondering why in the world he had helped his mother to tie up his brother.
She is also not free from the police who still wonder how a cloth could have caused terrible blisters to a child’s hands and eventually, death..
10-year old gay boys rape an 8-year-old boy on a school bus
Two 10-year-old boys in Houston are facing up to 40 years in prison for s*xually assaulting an 8-year-old boy aboard a school bus in August, police said.
A security video from Aug. 25 caught the two boys pulling their pants down and forcing the younger boy to perform s*x acts on them, police told the Houston Chronicle.
NEWSMEN learned that the two suspects were arrested last week.
The victim’s mother told the Chronicle that she remembers her son coming home from Thompson Elementary School without his belt on or with his pants unbuttoned.
But she didn’t think twice about it until cops called her in late August and said the boy had been molested.
“He has a hard time sleeping,” the mother, who was not identified, told the newspaper. “He’s just been having a hard time. He cries a lot.”
The mother said she has pulled the boy from school.
Man beats his male best friend to death for wanting to have s*x with him
Edgar Salvador Lucio Zamudio, 22, beat his best friend Ricardo Rios, 47, to death after Ricardo made a gay move on him, Nollywoodgossip has learned.
It all started when the two were hanging out as usual in Ricardo’s garage late last Tuesday night when they got into a fight after Ricardo asked Edgar to have s*x.
When the 22 year old man refused and got upset at his friend for suggesting something like that, Ricardo allegedly threw a cement block at Edgar’s car.
Edgar was so enraged that he beat Ricardo to death.
Edgar was taken into custody and is being held on $1 million bail and faces 25 years to life if convicted.

Just a week after the Nigerian Senate passed the anti-gay s*x bill, US president Barrack Obama issued a presidential memorandum directing 'all federal agencies engaged abroad to ensure that U.S. diplomacy and foreign assistance promote and protect the human rights of LGBT persons.

Since taking office, President Obama has demonstrated that his vision for a brighter future includes greater equality for Lesbian, Gay, Bis*xual and Transgender (LGBT) Americans. The President and this Administration are dedicated to eliminating barriers to equality, fighting discrimination based on s*xual orientation and gender identity, and engaging LGBT communities across the country.
The Administration’s dedication to LGBT rights does not stop at our borders, as the President made clear at the United Nations in September of this year when he said: “no country should deny people their rights because of who they love, which is why we must stand up for the rights of gays and lesbians everywhere.”
Today, President Obama issued a Presidential memorandum that directs all federal agencies engaged abroad to ensure that U.S. diplomacy and foreign assistance promote and protect the human rights of LGBT persons. Under the Obama Administration, agencies have already begun taking action to promote the fundamental human rights of LGBT persons everywhere. And now, following an interagency process coordinated by the National Security Staff, this memorandum directs the first-ever U.S. government strategy dedicated to combating human rights abuses against LGBT persons abroad.
Today’s memorandum applies to the Departments of State, the Treasury, Defense, Justice, Agriculture, Commerce, Health and Human Services, Homeland Security, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the Millennium Challenge Corporation, the Export-Import Bank, the United States Trade Representative, and such other agencies as the President may designate.
The memorandum directs agencies to:
*Combat the criminalization of LGBT status or conduct abroad.
*Protect vulnerable LGBT refugees and asylum seekers.
*Leverage foreign assistance to protect human rights and advance nondiscrimination.
*Ensure swift and meaningful U.S. responses to human rights abuses of LGBT persons abroad.
*Engage International Organizations in the fight against LGBT discrimination.

Even before today’s memo, U.S. agencies have been working to protect and promote the rights of LBGT persons around the world. Since January 2009, Secretary Clinton has directed the Department of State to champion a comprehensive human rights agenda—one that includes the protection of LGBT people.
Around the world, the State Department is:
*Engaging bilaterally and regionally in conjunction with U.S. embassies, civil society, and multilateral agencies to encourage countries to repeal or reform laws that criminalize LGBT conduct or status.
*Reinforcing the human rights of LGBT people in multilateral fora, such as the UN Human Rights Council. In June 2011, the United States joined South Africa and a cross-regional group of co-sponsors in passing the first-ever UN Human Rights Council resolution on the human rights of LGBT persons.
*Promoting human rights worldwide. U.S. embassies are declaring the United States’ support for the human rights of LGBT people through innovative public diplomacy. Ambassadors and embassies have hosted public discussions and private roundtables, published op-eds and supported Pride events.
*Supporting LGBT human rights defenders and civil society groups, with programmatic and financial assistance, including efforts to document human rights violations; build advocacy skills; provide advocates with legal representation; and, when necessary, relocation support.
*Reporting on the conditions of human rights of LGBT people in each of its annual, country-specific Human Rights Reports.
*Strengthening the Department’s personnel and consular policies. The Secretary extended the range of legally available benefits and allowances to same-s8x domestic partners of foreign service staff serving abroad. The United States also incorporated gender identity into federal equal employment opportunity policies in 2010.
*Protecting LGBT refugees, asylum seekers, and migrants through a protection strategy developed with other U.S. Government agencies, the UN High Commissioner for Refugees and NGOs.”

Rev Rowland Jide Macaulay, the gay minister who founded House Of Rainbow Fellowship, is leading a serious comeback into Nigeria, sources have disclosed. Reverend Roland not too long ago appeared on Cable Network News, CNN, where he proudly talked about his church of gays. [How come Nigerians supporting gay people - directly and indirectly - always get a space on CNN?]
"Religion is a backbone to life in Nigeria, so we all want to go to church. But we don’t want to lie to God about who we are. Any negative effect on the anti-gay bill will have detrimental effect on the work and mission of House Of Rainbow in Nigeria.

At the moment, Rev. Rowland is in a self-imposed exile in London where he is presently running his gay church - House Of Rainbow Fellowship - and planning a come back into the Nigerian society.
Britain Threatens Nigeria To Reverse Gay Marriage Law Or Face Sanction
THE Federal Government on Thursday disagreed with the British Government over the recently passed same-s*x marriage bill
as the Senate president, David Mark insisted that the law is irrevocable in spite of the threat by the foreign nations to withdraw assistance to Nigeria on account of that law.
While the British Government said that Nigerian government should rescind its decision to punish individuals who engage in same s8x marriage with 14 years imprisonment, the Federal Government said that the foreign mission should hold whatever assistance or aid to Nigeria tied to such gifts with ulterior motive.
The British Prime Minister, Mr David Camevon, said that Britain would not give any assistance or aid to countries that were opposed to same s*x marriage.
The British High Commissioner in Nigeria, Mr Andrew Lyod, who held a closed door meeting with the Jigawa State governor, Alhaji Sule Lamido, asked the Nigerian government to rescind its decision on punishing individuals involved in same s*x marriage, adding that such a law infringes on the fundamental rights of choice and association.
This is just as the Canadian government has also condemned the passage of a bill criminalising same-s8x marriage and gay activities in Nigeria by the Senate, saying that the bill, if assented to by President Goodluck Jonathan, would trample upon the fundamental human rights of homos*xuals and gay people.
The Canadian government, in a statement by its Foreign Affairs Minister, John Baird, on Thursday, called on Nigeria to reverse the bill so as to allow all its citizens to enjoy basic rights.
The Canadian government said: “Canada calls on Nigeria to immediately ensure that all its citizens enjoy basic rights. A bill passed by Nigeria’s Senate would, if ratified, disregard basic human rights and fundamental freedoms.”
Today, I Am Ashamed To Be Nigerian; Says ‘Gay Activist’
Since the historic passage of a law criminalising all forms of gay activities in Nigeria by the Senate, I’ve been receiving tips through SMS and e-mail by a few concerned Nigerians who claim to have information to the effect that gays in the country are “re-strategizing” with a view to launching a campaign of calumny against those who are thinking straight, and the leadership of the Senate in particular.
Sincerely I never took any of those ‘tips’ seriously, to the extent that someone even called me to ask ‘Mr. Olu, why didn’t you post the anti-gay law story on your Blog’? All they’ve been saying is now making sense to me after reading through an article written by someone.
As a ‘gay activist’ who’s yet to summon the nerves to come out open probably because of what people would say. I used to follow the activities of Chude Jideonwo with pride, but his latest rantings in an article about the passage of the anti-gay bill goes to confirm that Nigerian (youths) should be mindful of who they listen to in these perilous time. Below is an edited version of the article Chude wrote for CNN on the ‘very shameful’ debate:
“You can comb the breadth of our decidedly homophobic media and there is neither anecdotal nor empirical evidence of a clamor, even a quiet one, for gays to be married in churches, mosques or courts [This is even a big lie].
Still, our legislators were hard at work over a considerable number of weeks while the rest of sane Nigeria, in a state of suspended disbelief, ignored them; convinced that, in a country with pressing issues such as fuel subsidy removal and debilitating insecurity, this frivolous legislation would not see light of day.
Our elected representatives in the Senate, armed with their version of our National Moral Code, took time off urgent national issues to tackle the even more urgent evil of gay marriages. Before we could catch our breaths, our over-paid and under-worked Senators had legalized homophobia.
According to the law, not only is gay marriage a crime punishable by a 14-year jail term, but "any person who registers, operates or participates in gay... organizations" faces a decade in jail -- a clause that specifically targets the many active s*xuality rights advocacy groups in the country.
By the time the House of Representatives adds its predictable voice to this and the President signs it into law, writing this kind of piece might even risk jail time. It is important to note though that I and other aware young people who might sometimes be misidentified as the elite, may spend precious hours in vocal incredulity on Twitter and Facebook; shouting down a law that we can hardly do anything about - but we are sadly in the minority, at least for now.
You see, in Nigeria, homophobia is alive and well.
Many Nigerians are convinced that homos*xuality is "of the devil", against our "culture" and an encroachment of "sad Western values." A young man recently tweeted that "homos*xuality is the cause of the present rot in America."
What rot? America's thriving Silicon Valley? A democracy it should be proud of? Or the millions of dollars in aid that its government and people have invested in treating everything from malaria to HIV in our dear country? That's forgetting that the real giant of Africa, South Africa, is the continent's bastion of s*xuality rights.
"Our values are our values," the pompous senate president David Mark replies to critics of the bill. Nonsense he can get away with, only because a large segment of our educated population is unaware that animals have been found to be gay.
Dead cliches like "God did not make Adam and Steve" continue to get excited choruses from sedated congregations and people still declare with ignorance that "homos*xuality is not a part of our culture", conveniently skimming over historical evidence of the practice in the East and North of the country; and blissfully unaware that the origins of homophobia in our societies can only be traced to the influx of foreign religions.
Today, I am ashamed to be Nigerian.
But it's not because a gang of morally questionable legislators has forced through a piece of legislation that is both irrelevant and irresponsible. Well, thank God that Chude - the ‘gay activist’ - realised that the resolve to outlaw “their activities” is a ‘popular decision’. Look here Chude; no matter how hard you (and others) try to twist the issue by calling our Senators (and Senate president) names, Nigerians will not fall for such 'nonsense' antics. Whenever there is need for us to criticise them, we won’t need you to remind us. But on this GAY issue, we (majority of Nigerians) are in full support of their action.
Homos*xuals Are Worse Than Pigs And Dogs
Zimbabwean president Robert Mugabe has condemned as “satanic” a suggestion by Prime Minister David Cameron that Britain could cut aid money to countries that do not respect gay rights.
Mr. Mugabe said that homos*xuals were “worse than pigs and dogs” and warned those practising in his country: “We will punish you severely.”
His comments come as Zimbabweans get ready to vote next year on a new constitution that could offer some legal protection to homos*xuals in Zimbabwe. At present, those caught engaging in same-s*x relationships face prison terms.
Britain has already cut aid to Malawi by £19 million following the sentencing of two gay men to 14 years hard labour. They were later pardoned.
Mr Cameron raised the idea of linking funding to human rights issues at the end of the Commonwealth summit in October.
Henry Bellingham, the Africa Minister, said during a recent visit to Zambia that it was not Britain’s intention to force countries such as Uganda, Botswana, Malawi, Zimbabwe and Ghana to adopt gay-friendly laws.
“The UK will always be sensitive to local traditions. Mr Cameron did not say that we will be tying aid to gay rights, never,” he said. “What he did say is that we do oversee where we have a big aid programme, it does give us the right to talk to governments not to persecute minorities be they religious, disabled or gay.”
Mr Mugabe, 87, said the concept was “stupid” and that homos*xuality was inconsistent with African and Christian values.
His view will garner much sympathy both at home and elsewhere in Africa, where homos*xuality is frequently a taboo subject and outspoken opposition to it a vote-winner.
“It becomes worse and Satanic when you get a prime minister like Cameron saying countries that want British aid should accept homos*xuality,” he said.
“To come with that diabolical suggestion to our people is a stupid offer.”
Speaking to a group of young people at a community event in a mining town in Zimbabwe’s Midlands region, he added that it was “impossible for John to marry Jack or Maria to marry Theresa”.
“Do not get tempted into that (homos*xuality). You are young people. We will punish you severely,” he was quoted as saying in the state-run Herald newspaper.
“It is condemned by nature. It is condemned by insects and that is why I have said they are worse than pigs and dogs.”
Britain said earlier this year that it would increase annual aid to Zimbabwe to more than £100 million a year in an attempt to encourage fair elections and government reforms.
Movement for Democratic Change Prime Minister Morgan Tsvangirai, who formed a shaky coalition government with Mr Mugabe in 2009, has said that he supports gay rights but that homos*xuals should “do their things in private”.
Yesterday, Andrew Mitchell, the International Development Secretary, insisted Mr Cameron’s remarks on aid had been misinterpreted.
He said that human rights adherence was one of four requirements for governments seeking British aid, along with poverty reduction, good financial management and accountability to their citizens, and non-compliance would see aid money channelled to civil society groups and charities rather than cut altogether.
East Africa dares UK on homos8xuality
Zanzibar President Ali Mohammed Shein on Thursday said his government will not abide by demands from Britain to introduce laws to protect members of the gay community.“That is an issue not acceptable in this society and we are not going to amend or introduce any laws to grant such rights,” Shein told journalists.
The Zanzibar President spoke on a day that Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mr Bernard Membe and his Gender, Children and Community Development counterpart, Ms Sophia Simba, spoke strongly against the UK’s push for the common wealth to officially embrace gays.
Like Dr Shein, the two ministers said Tanzania will not yield or succumb to pressure of any kind following UK Prime Minister David Cameron’s threats to cut development aid to countries that did not recognise gay rights.
“Changing the law simply because we need aid is next to impossible. We have our values. That is not acceptable; we would rather do without it,” declared Dr Shein.
The Zanzibar President was speaking at a meeting in State House during a wide ranging interview during which he gave an overview of his administration’s performance in the one year of Zanzibar’s Government of National Unity.
In Dar es Salaam, Mr Membe, said Tanzania will not listen to any country that tried to influence its decisions regarding whether to accept the unnatural s*x relations.

It was the first major statement by the State following recent remarks attributed to Mr Cameron, who was quoted as threatening aid cuts to countries that continue to ban the practice which has taken root mainly in the western world. The UK position was raised informally during the recent meeting of the Commonwealth Heads of State in Perth, Australia. President Jakaya Kikwete and Mr Membe represented Tanzania.
UK’s Queen Elizabeth II is the custodian of common wealth club comprising 54 states that were formally colonised by Britain. It was reported that during the Perth meeting, only 13 countries were receptive of the Cameron advances.
Kenya and Uganda have also voiced opposition on the same matter. Officials in these countries said they would rather miss aid than approve gay movement.
Married Man leaves Wife, Flees to South Africa with Gay Lover
A Bulawayo city woman who claimed she severed ties with her husband after discovering that the man was involved in a gay affair with an upcoming entrepreneur was last week left to mourn after her man allegedly finally decided to abandon her for the muscular s*x.Caven Mlilo and his alleged lover, only identified as Malvern were caught red-handed caressing and kissing by Nolan Chiwenga who was customarily married to Mlilo.
Out of anger, Chiwenga had temporarily packed her bags and headed to her relatives in North End suburb. However, the gods frowned upon her and things went haywire defying the expected family deliberations of trying to sort things out between the couple as Mlilo is said to have skipped the border to South Africa.
In an interview, Chiwenga said Mlilo left the “deliberations to make up to stay with Malvern in neighbouring South Africa.
“I was still at my parents’ place and our family had arranged that they were going to meet and deliberate on what happened. However, Mlilo escaped without announcing and we discovered that after two weeks,” she said.
“I have been trying to locate him and only last week he sent me a message saying i must not bother myself looking for him. He told me that he is safe and happy with Malvern,” she added.
Chiwenga discovered the ‘affair’ in August after she found her husband and his friend ‘cuddling and kissing’ in their lounge.
“I was shocked and still have not recovered from that haunting sight. The truth is I can not relate everything to you but can only tell you that I am no longer with him because he also does man,” said Chiwenga then.
She left their matrimonial home in Southwold to stay at her parents’ home in North End suburb.
“He left me questioning myself whether I was not satisfying him but even though, did I deserve to be substituted by a man?” the seemingly heart broken Chiwenga asked rhetorically.
'Legalise gay marriage? You may as well legalise marriage with animals'
A senior Tory councillor is facing calls to be sacked after suggesting his party 'may as well legalise marriage with animals' because Prime Minister David Cameron supports gay marriage.
Conservative Party officials immediately took action against James Malliff, a cabinet member of Tory-controlled Wycombe District Council, Buckinghamshire, after he tweeted the remark to a former Tory MP.
Mr Malliff, who is in charge of big society and localism at the council, was immediately suspended by bosses for the ill-advised and 'completely unacceptable' Twitter post.
The London Evening Standard reported that Mr Malliff tweeted to former Conservative MP Paul Goodman, who had asked whether legalising gay marriage could lead to multiple Sharia marriages being made lawful.
Mr Malliff said: 'There is no doubt the PM is wrong on this issue. We may as well legalise marriage with animals, crude I concede but no apology.'
Pastor Caught With Male Church Member Inside Hotel Room
The police at Ijesha Police Division in Lagos State, Southwest Nigeria, have arrested a suspected homos*xual pastor, Prince Egimonele, in a hotel as he attempted to have s*x with his male church member.
The victim, Chidiebere Mozie, a drummer in the pastor’s church, reportedly played along and informed the police of the appointment with the pastor before they went inside the hotel room to have s*x. The police laid ambush for the pastor A police source informed TODAY'S GIST that the pastor, Egimonele, the General Overseer of Jesus Intervention Ministry at Ijesha Community Hall, a native of Abia State, Southeast Nigeria, was arrested inside the hotel along Ijesha Road, where he had gone to have fun with Chidiebere Mozie, 23, whom he allegedly lured with N100,000.
However, luck ran out on the pastor when policemen arrested him in the hotel. Items recovered from the randy clergyman inside the hotel room include a pack of viagra, a drug that boosts male libido, Rough Rider condoms, cream and fruit juice. After police investigation, the pastor and an accomplice Lawrence were arraigned before a Cele Magistrate’s Court in Lagos on a four-count charge of having s*x with a male partner and an attempt to have unlawful carnal knowledge and indecent practice with a male person in a hotel.
The offences, according to the prosecutor, are punishable under Sections 516, 214 and 217 of the Criminal Code. Section 214 of the Criminal Code Act, Chapter 77, Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 1990 reads:“Any person who has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature; or has carnal knowledge of an animal; or permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of him or her against the order of nature is guilty of felony, and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen (14) years.” Section 217 of the Criminal Code Act reads:
Any male person who, whether in public or private, commits any act of gross indecency with another male person, or procures another male person to commit any act of gross indecency with him, or attempts to procure the commission of any such act by any male person with himself or with another male person, whether in public or private, is guilty of a felony and is liable to imprisonment for three years.
The accused persons pleaded not guilty when the charge was read to them. The presiding magistrate, Mrs. D. T. Olatokun, admitted the pastor to bail in the sum of N250,000 and Lawrence, N100,000 with two sureties each in like sum. She adjourned the matter till 10 November, 2011 for mention. The accused were moved to Kirikiri Maximum Prison, Apapa, Lagos, when they could not perfect their bail conditions in good time.
U.I. Lecturer Charged to court for having carnal knowledge with a boy of 15
A university lecturer, has been charged to Ijeshatedo Magistrates’ Court in Lagos and remanded in prison custody at Apapa Lagos, State, Southwest Nigeria, for allegedly having carnal knowledge of a 15-year old boy (names withheld).
Abodunrin claimed that he is a lecturer at the Department of Physiology, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife, Osun State, Nigeria. The suspect was alleged to have inserted his penis into the boy’s anus in order to satisfy his s*xual desire, after which he reportedly gave him N1,000 and warned him not to tell anyone.
The incident happened at Ago Palace Way, Okota, Lagos, where the victim and Abodunrin’s parents reside.Abodunrin, who is now detained at Kirikiri Prisons returned from Ile- Ife where he teaches to see his parents when the incident happened.
It was learnt that when the victim could not bear the pains in his anus, he opened up and told his parents what happened. The matter was reported at Okota Police Station and Abodunrin was arrested and charged to court for allegedly having carnal knowledge of the victim.
Part of the charge reads: “that you, Elijah Abodunrin on the same date, time and place did have carnal knowledge of the victim against the order of nature.’’ He pleaded not guilty to the charge. The presiding magistrate, Mrs. D. T. Olatuku granted him bail in the sum of N100,000 with two sureties in like sum. The matter was adjourned till 7 November, 2011. Abodunrin was remanded in prison custody pending when he will meet the bail conditions.
